Piano concert with the musician Edoardo Bruni.
Edoardo Bruni
Edoardo Bruni is a pianist and composer from Trentino.
After classical studies, he graduated in Piano with full marks at the Conservatories of Trento (Maddalena Giese) and Rotterdam (Aquiles Delle Vigne), and then he studied with Arnaldo Cohen, Lazar Berman, Andras Schiff, Leonid Margarius.
He graduated in composition with full marks at the Conservatory of Trento (Armando Franceschini, Carlo Galante, Cosimo Colazzo), specialising with Alexander Müllenbach, Azio Corghi, Luis Bacalov. He graduated in Philosophy with honors from the University of Padua with a thesis on "The teleonomic explanation in biology" (Prof. Giovanni Boniolo). He obtained his PhD in Musicology with honors and mention, in collaboration with the Universities of Trento and Paris 4 - Sorbonne, with a thesis on "Sistematica delle altezze" (Prof. Rossana Dalmonte - Prof. Nicolas Meeùs).
He has been regularly performing for decades in concerts in Italy and Europe, as a pianist (soloist and in chamber music ensembles, with programmes of both classical music and contemporary and jazz music) and as a composer (with numerous performances of his works). He is often invited as a jury member in national and international piano and composition competitions. He has taught at the Scuola Musicale Giudicarie and the Conservatories of Verona, Padua, Trento, Siena, Frosinone, Riva del Garda and Darfo-Brescia.
He is currently Professor of Score Reading at the Conservatory of Vicenza. He is the founder and president of the Ars Modi Association, for which he is the artistic director of numerous music festivals in Trentino - Alto Adige: Più Piano, Katharsis, GiudiJazz, I Martedì di Casa Raphael (Roncegno), Concerts at the Grand Hotel Terme (Comano Terme).
As a composer, he defined his own aesthetic vision, described in the Manifesto dell'Estetica della Catarsi, and formalised a new and personal compositional technique, Pan-Modality, which aims to synthesise and overcome the duality between tonality and atonality. Based on the aesthetics of catharsis and the technique of pan-modality, he is now creating the compositional project Ars Modi - L'Arte del Modo.
He has to his credit the publication of four CDs.
