From 18th to 30th August at the Educational Silk Museum of Como there will be the exhibition "Raccontami una storia (di seta)".
Since the Museum reopened on July 15th, every two weeks an unpublished story, never told before, is set up in an area of the Museum. A way to ingest, to propose new narratives, other portions of history and culture of the city of Como and beyond.
In the first two episodes of Raccontami una storia (di Seta) we have proposed:
A precious dress of the 70s, with hand embroidered sequins, dedicated to the period of Flower Power;
The original sketches made by Emma Calderini for the TV series "I Promessi Sposi" (1967), to reveal all the links between Manzoni's novel and silk.
With this third episode, inaugurated on Tuesday, August 18, will be the turn of "The Abstract Silk of Como".
On display, four silk scarves - real works of art - by four great figures of Como's abstract art: Manlio Rho, Carla Badiali, Aldo Galli, Mario Radice. Colours, geometries, revolutionary ideas are at the centre of the new History, which starts from Paris, passes through Weimar, until Como.
The exhibition "The Abstract Silk of Como" will be open until Sunday, August 30.
