Telai e trame d’autore. Da Leonardo a Maria Lai
Canclini’s collection of textile art includes works of ancient and contemporary art. The careful selection made in this exhibition takes the visitor on an evocative journey into the world of textile art. The exhibition explains how weaving, weft, warp or raw materials, such as silk, wool and cotton, have become the protagonists of a true expressive language.
A refined collection of rare and precious materials, including models of textile machines taken from some of Leonardo da Vinci’s projects dedicated to engineering and technique, are offered to the public for the first time on the occasion of the celebrations for the five hundredth anniversary of his death.
