Federico Canobbio-Codelli
Glacier painter and philosopher of science Federico Canobbio-Codelli was born in 1947 and specialized in Philosophy of Science at the Catholic University of Milan. From 1987 to 2001 he was Director of the Scientific Culture Centre "Alessandro Volta" in Como and from 2001 to 2006 he was Development Manager of International Relations at the Politecnico di Milano.
The soul of the mountains - those that embrace the Larian territory from the North - the perception of their most secret and mysterious breath, which terrifies and attracts together, is the perennial compass of the Larian painter, who not only ventured into the beloved Engadine of Segantini and Giacometti, but also into the remote and fascinating landscapes of Australia and Tierra del Fuego, sharing among other things the adventurous journeys of the naturalist Luca Novelli on the trail of Charles Darwin.
