From Saturday 30th November at 16:00, at the Pinacoteca Civica of Como, GirinGIOSTRA: Caroselli in Mostra. An enchanted place realized with majestic toy horses, mysterious and evocative paintings, magical carillon with surprising melodies and nice tin merry-go-rounds, where children and adults will find out stories with an ancient flavor.
The exhibition, arranged by the Museo del Cavallo Giocattolo for Città dei Balocchi, starts wiht a suggestive spinning carousel where three spectacular horses live. Valdo, Gorgonio e Hermete, stars of these imposing ancient roundabouts, survive today as singular toys concentrating within themselves spells, enchantments and memories capable of bringing to life with the heart forgotten stories. On walls there are enchanting real estate merry-go-round horses, blocked in the moment they are captured by the viewer's gaze before continuing their journey. These are paintings of Wanda Broggi, a painter who has always been fascinated by the world of toy horses.
Visitors will be accompanied by the sweet music of 6 music boxes. Miniatures of the fantastic planet of the travelling rides of the late nineteenth century, the realistic carillons carved by Goffredo Colombani make visible to the sound of music the fun and enchantment of ancient carousels.
The journey repeats itself differently on each tour, even in the screen-printed tin carousels, small automatic reproductions of a large useless machine hidden by a sinuous wall that increases the charm of these little masterpieces and the fun of discovering them.
All the opening days of the exhibition are marked by a kermesse of activities for children and families: theatrical performances, creative workshops, visits played, animated readings and many other surprises.
The show can be visited during the opening hours of the Pinacoteca:
