On Sunday May 28 it will be possible to visit the Galli Furnace and the Val Sanagra Museum.
At the Fornace Galli, an good example of industrial archeology, it will be possible to see the oven, the bricks, the house of the kilnsmen.
At the Val Sanagra Museum there are rooms dedicated to fossils and mushrooms, dioramas dedicated to local fauna, rooms that tell the story of the Menaggio - Porlezza railway.

Above Menaggio is the Val Sanagra Park, a vast territory rich in flora, fauna, ancient rural settlements and industrial archeology..
The Galli kiln is an example of industrial archeology: inside there is a furnace and the systems necessary for processing clay using the driving force of water. The building, has been restored and is the seat of the val Sanagra Park.
Villa Camozzi, seat of the Town Hall and the Val Sanagra Ethnographic and Naturalistic Museum, was built in the eighteenth century and looks like a classic residence of that era. The Val Sanagra Naturalistic Ethnographic Museum preserves evidence of the history and popular traditions of the valley. Various naturalistic environments have been recreated including rooms wih fossils and mushrooms, dioramas relating to fauna, a documentary exhibition of the former Menaggio-Porlezza railway, a room dedicated to music and numerous tools belonging to peasant civilizations.
Sopra Menaggio si trova il Parco della Val Sanagra, un vasto territorio ricco di flora, fauna, antichi insediamenti ruralie archeologia industriale all’interno del quale sono tracciati numerosi percorsi.
La fornace Galli è un esempio di archeologia industriale: al suo interno si trovano un forno di cottura e gli impianti necessari per la lavorazione dell’argilla tramite la forza motrice dell’acqua. L’edificio, restaurato e messo in funzione, è la sede del Parco.
La Villa Camozzi, sede del Municipio e del Museo Etnografico e Naturalistico Val Sanagra, fu edificata nel settecento e si presenta come una classica dimora di quell’epoca. Il museo Etnografico Naturalistico della Val Sanagra conserva testimonianze della storia e delle tradizioni popolari della valle. Vi sono ricreati diversi ambienti naturalistici comprese esposizioni di reperti fossili e di funghi, diorami relativi alla fauna, un’esposizione documentale della ex ferrovia Menaggio-Porlezza, una sala dedicata alla musica e numerosi attrezzi appartenenti alle civiltà contadine.
